Sean Petrilak grew up in the San Fernando Valley, California. The home of entertainment. He found a passion for storytelling and started pursuing his cinematic education at the age of 12. Sean attended San Jose State University and entered the Animation/Illustration BFA program, with the intention of storyboarding in live action film. There are countless mentors to thank, but let’s keep this rolling, shall we?
After some success in gaining high-end clients, Sean found himself working in feature films, television, and the music industry. To name a few highlights, he was involved in projects with Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Kanye West, Glenn Danzig, P Diddy, Roland Music products, NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, BET, MTV, toy companies, and independent film companies. The types of projects made with these clients include music videos, live stage performances, commercials, TV series openers, and pitch packages.
It wasn’t long before the pull of animation sucked in Sean and gave him the creative control, as a filmmaker. Sean worked for Nickelodeon, Disney, Titmouse, and Warner Bros. He got his first directing gig while working on his first storyboard gig. From there, Sean began to write, set up storyboard pipelines, direct recordings, manage talent, tackle all of post-production, manage/approve designs, and establishing a positive culture in the production. He found a passion in creating a project and seeing it through.
Sean actively pitches projects to studios and enjoys making short-form content. It is his dream to create multimedia content for a variety of clients and industries(basically what he does now, just on a bigger scale).
